Unfortunately in this day and age the shallow waters around Rottnest Island support very small fish stocks. Therefore, to give the keen angler any real chance of landing that BIG ONE we have to travel to the deeper waters west of Rottnest Island, where depths of over 100 metres provide excellent fishing.
We suggest an early start at 0630 hrs to enable fishing to be done before the sea breeze blows up, as this vastly affects the drift rate that is so critical to a good catch. We have 18 Alvey Reelmasters attached to fixed fishing stations along the port side back
deck of our new 21 metre vessel, and this has provde to be the only way to fish deep water.
