What to Expect

Fishing depths ranging from 20 metres up to 110 metres. Expect to catch:

Spanish mackerel | Spaniards | Yellowfin Tuna Red Emperor | Coral Trout | Rankin Cod | Wahoo | Giant Trevally | Queenfish | Squid | Longtail Tuna | Cobia NW Snapper | Sailfish | Golden Trevally | Snorkelling – Tropical crayfish

Possession limits: 20 kg of fish fillets; or 10 kg of fish fillets and one day’s bag limit of whole fish or fish trunks or; two day’s bag limit of whole fish or fish trunks.

Mackerel & Exmouth Islands Fishing Charters

The Mackerel & Exmouth Islands is a pristine location off the Pilbara coast of Western Australia. Consisting of roughly ten islands, it boasts world-class fishing, snorkelling, swimming, spear fishing and nature watching in protected calm waters.

Departing from Exmouth Marina, this amazing fishing charter is only 40 nautical miles to Long Island and then on to Thevenard and Barrow Is- lands and the surrounding waters of the Mackerel Islands group.

You will take with you many stories to share with friends about the thumping Red Emperor, GT, Marlin or Sailfish you landed whilst on board Top Gun II.

As with all styles of fishing, there is always that surprise catch that will etch in your memory, forever. Trying different techniques and strategies to get that prized catch can often lead to something spectacular. Why not try your luck at jigging with soft plastics or bring along some lighter gear?

With a combination of bottom bouncing, jigging, trolling, sports fishing and spearfishing this amazing location will not disappoint.

Not only will this be a fishing trip you’ll never forget, it will also be the easiest and stress-free fishing trip you’ll ever take part in. Get a group of friends and family together, pack your bag and let us do the rest.

You can join a group or fill the boat with your own group and have it to yourselves for the week, we can accommodate you, either way.

15 guests are our maximum; however, we find guests up to 12, works well.

Whether you have an exclusive boat booking, small group or on your own we will accomodate you on your fishing trip.

Opting an exclusive boat booking means we won’t add other guests to your trip.

The Mackerel & Exmouth Islands trip commences when we depart port on Sunday morning and concludes on the following Thursday afternoon, back in port.For your convenience we provide FREE ACCOMMODATION on board the Saturday night and the Thursday night. (meals not included).

Before you head home, your catch will be packed and sealed in a COMPLIMENTARY esky. You will also receive a COMPLIMENTARY thumb drive containing all your fishing holiday snaps.

Itinerary

Trip itineraries and timing may change due to weather conditions or specific group requests. We will, however, try to keep things as close to the original plan as possible.

SATURDAY AFTERNOON: 4pm onwards – vessel boarding at Exmount Marina, Madaffari Drive.

SUNDAY MORNING: Depart Exmouth Marina to Long Island.

MONDAY: Fish and explore the waters west of Long Island, making our way towards the Mackerel Islands group to Thevenard Island.

TUESDAY: Fish and explore the waters of the Mackerel Islands, north of Thevenard Island, making our way towards Barrow Island.

WEDNESDAY: Fish and explore the waters in and around the Mackerel Islands group, slowly heading back towards Long Island, west of Thevenard.

THURSDAY: Depart Long Island and make our way back to Exmouth (eta dependent of the catch and weather conditions).

FRIDAY: Disembarking time is no later than 8.00am. Your catch will be packed and sealed in your complimentary foam esky, ready to take home.

How we get there

Perth to Exmouth is a 2 1⁄2 hour flight to Learmonth Airport or the drive is just short of 1400km.

Qantas is the only carrier to Exmouth and we will arrange airport transfers in Exmouth only for arriving flight on Saturday, QF1642 at 2.05pm and departing flight on Friday, QF1641 at 11.30am.

Any flights outside of these, transfers are your own responsibility.

Bus services also available.

Pack light and don’t forget to book your extra luggage allowance for your fish on the way home.

If you drive; secured parking can also be arranged upon request. Alternatively, there is ample parking a short walk from where the vessel is berthed.

The Exmouth Marina is situated on Madaffari Drive.

Embarking and disembarking times

The vessel will be ready to embark from 4PM ONWARDS ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON. Disembarking time is no later than 8.00AM FRIDAY MORNING.

Due to our operational requirements, we ask that you respect the embarking and disembarking times unless special arrangements have been made.

The crew will drop you off in town for breakfast and for those flying back home, you will be picked up at 9.30am for transfer to the airport.

Transfers to and from the Airport: We will arrange airport transfers in Exmouth only for the arriving flight on SATURDAY, QF1642 at 2.05pm and the departing flight on Friday, QF1641 at 11.30am.

Any flights outside of these, an airport bus shuttle service is available for a fee.
